"V&M is a fashion lover’s paradise. It covers two floors of a small house packed with carefully curated men’s and women’s pieces dating from the late 1800s to the early 1980s."
Thanks to
Liebemarlene a.k.a. Rhiannon, a blogger I once bought a lovely vintage dress from, I discovered this
Blackbook article on Karen Elson and Amy Patterson's vintage boutique -
Venus & Mars: The Showroom. As you might have gathered from the pictures above, it is absolutely dreamy and filled with old gems such as velvet bias-cut slip dresses from the 1930s and flapper finery. Prices range from $30 for a 1960s minidress to several hundred dollars for vintage Christian Dior.
Karen's work as a model has always been impeccable but I think her personal style off the runway is often more interesting than the clothes she is paid to wear. As a lot of the pieces in her shop were sourced and handpicked by her from all corners of the globe, I can only imagine that V&M is a veritable treasure trove I would gladly dive into.
My only gripe is that it is in Nashville, Tennessee, so this will remain little more than a pipe dream.
